Share the cost of Clearly through Expenses
The parent who pays can add each charge to Expenses at your usual split or any other. Billing itself doesn't change.
iPhone appWeb app
One parent pays for the family's subscription. If you're that parent, you can share the cost with your co-parent through Expenses.
Turn it on
Right after you subscribe, Clearly asks whether to share the cost and suggests your usual expense split. Choose a split and confirm, or choose not to.
To change it later:
- On the web: Settings, then Subscription, then Change or Stop sharing.
- On iPhone: Settings, then Subscription, then Sharing the cost.
How it works
- You're still the one charged. Billing doesn't change.
- Each paid charge after that is added to Expenses as an unpaid expense, logged by you, at the split you chose. Your co-parent settles it the usual way.
- Changes apply from the next charge. Expenses already logged keep their split.
- Trials and free months never create an expense.
- If a charge is refunded, its expense is cancelled if it's still unpaid.
Both parents can see whether the cost is shared. Only the parent who pays can change it.
Note: This needs your co-parent to have joined, and works for US dollar subscriptions.
